Black Friday: Big savings on new MacBook Pro 14in and 16in

Apple revealed a much-needed upgrade to the MacBook Pro in October, and it’s available to buy right now.

Despite Black Friday coming just weeks after the new 14in and 16in models were released, there are still some notable deals worth talking about. Here’s everything you need to know.

Best MacBook Pro 14in and 16in (2021) deals

During the pre-order stage, both models of MacBook Pro (2021) were exclusively available via the Apple Store and a small handful of retailers. However, now that the laptop range has started shipping, it has begun appearing at most third-party retailers that stock Macs.

What’s more, there are also some significant Black Friday deals to be aware of. Here’s everywhere you can buy them in the UK and US:

If you are looking for a bargain on Apple laptops, consider the 13in M1 MacBook Pro or M1 MacBook Air instead.

How much does the new MacBook Pro 14in and 16in usually cost?

Appearing alongside – rather than completely replacing – the M1 variant of 13in MacBook Pro, the new 14in and 16in models are a little more expensive, starting at £1,899/$1,999 and £2,399/$2,499 respectively, and that price will rise if you customise your Mac before you buy it.

Here’s a list of stock pricing for reference:

  • MacBook Pro 14 (M1 Pro 8-core CPU, 14-core GPU, 16GB memory, 512GB storage) – £1,899 / $1,999

What’s new with the 2021 MacBook Pro 14in and 16in?

The new 14in and 16in MacBook Pro offer a significant change compared to their predecessors; as well as the 13.3in model jumping to 14.2in, the new range sport smaller bezels and a 120Hz Super Retina XDR display with HDR support, the return of ports including HDMI, an SD Card Reader and even the beloved MagSafe, and the next-gen Apple Silicon chips.

In a surprise move, there isn’t one but two new Apple Silicon chips; the M1 Pro and M1 Max. The M1 Pro offers an impressive upgrade over the M1, with up to 10 CPU cores and 16 GPU cores, while the M1 Max offers the very best performance Apple has to offer, with the same 10 CPU cores and a whopping 32 GPU cores.

When combined with up to 64GB of Unified Memory, the MacBook Pro has the potential to provide serious computing power.

It hasn’t come at a cost to battery life either, with Apple quoting a 17-hour battery life for the MacBook Pro 14in, while the MacBook Pro 16in offers the best battery life of any Mac to date with an impressive 21 hours.

Excited? You should be. Here’s everywhere that you can buy the new MacBook Pro range in the UK and US, even if Black Friday deals are unlikely. If you’d prefer to find out more before buying, we outline all you need to know about the new MacBook Pro range separately.
