OnePlus is set to launch a new pair of wireless earbuds alongside the Nord 2 smartphone. Get ready for the OnePlus Buds Pro Edition.
These will follow the OnePlus Buds and Buds Z and potentially aim to offer ‘pro’ level performance and features at a lower price to the likes of Apple, Sony, Bose and others.
I say potentially because we don’t actually know much about the headphones at this point, even though the company has mentioned them by name. OnePlus has confirmed the earbuds ahead of time via its initiative called The Lab which lets fans test products before they are officially released.
The page says “Think you’ve got what it takes to be a tech influencer? Join The Lab and stand a chance to be one of the first to review an all-new Nord 2 Series and Buds Pro device.”
Applications are now closed but we know the Nord 2 is set to be unveiled on 22 July so and the Buds Pro Edition will too.

While OnePlus often drip-feeds bits of news such as specs ahead of a launch event, it hasn’t done this with the Buds Pro. However, slapping ‘pro’ on the end of a pair of wireless earbuds typically means they have active noise cancelling or ANC for short.
We just have the teased image above which shows a stem design with a smooth curved main body and eartips – rather than an open design.
Other features could include an ambient/transparency mode to hear your surroundings, ear detection so they automatically pause or resume when you remove/replace the earbuds from your ears and more.
