Does Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have a post-credits scene?

Shang-Chi has not just one, but two post-credits scenes – which will come as no surprise to Marvel fans.

The first occurs after the first set of animated credits which details the stars of the film. The second then occurs right at the end of the full credits, so make sure you stick around in the cinema right until the end.

If you’d like to know what they are, here’s what you need to know. Spoilers for the Shang-Chi post-credit scenes below.

Shang-Chi post credits scenes explained

The first shows Shang-Chi and Katy discussing the origins of the rings with Wong, Bruce Banner/The Hulk and Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel – the latter two appear via video projections. Wong brought the two leads to the meeting after interrupting their dinner at the end of the film.

There appears to be some sort of beacon producing from the rings, indicating that they’ll be playing a bigger role in the future of the MCU. The film didn’t go into the origin of the artefacts, so it’s possible that they may be detailed in a future film – perhaps Eternals will give us some clues.

It’s also worth noting that we get to see Bruce Banner in his human form, rather than the Professor Hulk version we saw in Endgame. We’ll likely learn more about this in She-Hulk, where Bruce is a supporting character.

After the plot teaser, Wong, Shang-Chi and Katy all go out to a karaoke bar and sing Hotel California after numerous bevvies. It’s the scene we never knew we needed.

The second post-credits scene shows Shang-Chi’s sister, Xialing, at the home base of the Ten Rings, formally owned by her father. At the end of the film, Shang-Chi states that she’s there to shut the organisation down – but it looks like that’s not the case.

Xialing sits on a throne-like chair, stating “Let’s get started” to a group of fighters who’ve taken over the base and redecorated it to reflect the grungy, underground atmosphere that her former fighting club – the Golden Daggers – in Macau.

The post-credits scene doesn’t tell us of her true intentions, but there is a possibility that she could be a future antagonist for Shang-Chi.

After the scene ends, the screen flashes up with the message: “The Ten Rings will return”. It’s not confirmed yet whether this will be in a sequel to Shang-Chi, or in a future Marvel property. Perhaps one of the upcoming TV shows in Phase 4 in the MCU could be a candidate?
