Fresh design leaks for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable phone sit uneasily with separate claims of a major price hike.
Established Leaker Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) has issues a series of new renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is set to be announced over the coming weeks.
We see the Flip 7 in four colours: white, black, blue, and a kind of deep coral pink. But the overall impression is of a flip phone that looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 before it. It might be a tad slimmer and sharper, and the cover display may be a little bigger, but it’s broadly similar.
That’s a little problematic when you consider another report to have emerged of late.

Samsung flips the switch on a significant price hike
Over on Dutch website Nieuwemobiel, initial pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 has been spotted with European retailers.
According to the leaked info, the 512GB model of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will cost around €1,425.51 (about £1,200) in Italy. That represents a chunky €100 price rise over the equivalent Flip 6 model.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also mentioned on these retail listings, and the prices work out to a €200 hike on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.
With the latter, Samsung can justify this price hike thanks to rumours of a bold new ‘Ultra’ design that should mark a genuine step forward for the series. We’re not so sure it’ll be able to claim the same with the Flip 7.
Perhaps that’s where the rumoured Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE comes in. With a new more affordable alternative in play, Samsung presumably hopes that it can get away with a price bump for its now premium-tier flip phone.
