In summary
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 official
- Limited rollout for now
- A11+ slightly delayed
After a number of leaks and rumours, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 and A11+ budget tablets are finally official, though not for everyone.
Samsung’s latest budget tablet line has finally been announced, in some countries at least. Head over to the Samsung France newsroom, for example, and you’ll find the expected press release, though there’s only a retail listing here in the UK. There’s no sign of it in the US.
As for the larger Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+, it seems to have been somewhat delayed. In the aforementioned Samsung France post, it’s revealed that “The Galaxy Tab A11+ will be released by the end of 2025” (via machine translation).
Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 specs
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 and A11+ come in grey and silver, and the (already leaked) design of the camera sensor and side buttons have apparently been “inherited from the iconic design of Samsung Galaxy smartphones and the Galaxy Tab S11 Series”.
It looks quite a lot like the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 (pictured above) to us.
Both tablets come with 90Hz LCDs – 8.7-inch for the A11, 11-inch for the A11+ – along with Dolby Atmos sound, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Samsung
The Galaxy Tab A11 comes with a 5,100mAh battery, while the Galaxy Tab A11+ comes equipped with a 7,040mAh cell. Samsung mentions that only the Galaxy Tab A11+ comes with 25W charging support, which leads us to suspect a piddling 15W in the regular A11.
That larger model also comes with better storage options, to the tune of 128 and 256GB rather than the Galaxy Tab A11’s 64 or 128GB. You can extend that to 2TB, at any rate, through a microSD slot. RAM is also doubled (8 vs 4GB) on the A11+.
Previous leaks have revealed that the regular Galaxy Tab A11, at least, will run on a MediaTek Helio G99 chip.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 – Additional specs
It’s perhaps that extra memory that accounts for the fact that only the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ is getting DeX support – Samsung’s lightweight desktop-emulating UI.
Samsung reveals that there’s a new 5 MP front sensor for selfies and video calls.
Perhaps the most impressive spec here, however, is the promise of seven years of OS and security upgrades. That’s not something you see often in the budget tablet space.
And budget it is, with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 set to start from just £149.
