After a decent wait for Samsung’s version of Wear OS 6 (called One UI 8 Watch), it seems as if the update is finally making its way to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, but you might have to wait just a little bit longer.
Originally spotted by Sam Mobile, the One UI 8 Watch free upgrade has started appearing to users of Samsung’s previous-gen smartwatch in South Korea. After a short delay, the update has now also started to appear for users based in the US.
While Samsung has yet to officially lay out any sort of timeline for when the update is scheduled to hit certain territories, the fact that South Korea and the US have already been ticked off the list should mean that Galaxy Watch 7 users in the UK, but it may only be a matter of days until the firmware starts rolling out.
The beta for One UI 8 Watch was dished out to the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra back in June, but this marks the full, stable release that promises a much smoother overall experience that’s free of the usual bugs and glitches that you expect to find during beta testing.

At the time of writing, an official One UI 8 Watch rollout has yet to occur for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and previous-generation watches, like the Galaxy Watch 6, which are eligible for the update at some point in the future – likely next month to begin with – have yet to see even a beta version of the new software.
With the One UI 8 Watch update in tow, the Galaxy Watch 7 should be able to provide more robust health tracking, including Samsung’s new Bedtime Guidance feature which offers personalised advice to users on how they can achieve a better night’s rest. There’s also a new Antioxidant Index feature.
