Until now, Google’s Gemini AI features have been limited to a tab within the Google app on iOS. But a recent discovery suggests a dedicated app is on the way.
It was first spotted by Reddit user lostshenanigans, who posted . In them, you can see the App Store description for Google Gemini, which shows access to the Gemini Live AI assistant.
The app can also seemingly use the iPhone’s ‘Live Activities’ feature, which allows it to be active while using other apps on your phone.
So far, this is the only report of the app being available to download, with the user appearing to be based in the Philippines. In the UK and US, it isn’t visible at all in the App Store, which suggests that Google is testing the app in a few countries before a wider launch.
Hopefully, the standalone app will allow Google to deliver faster updates. As a reminder, Google Assistant is a separate app on iOS.
