The Green Knight is an epic fantasy film starring Dev Patel as Sir Gawain. Gawain is the nephew of King Arthur who sets out on a quest of self-discovery.
Though cinemas in the UK have re-opened, The Green Knight was delayed indefinitely due to concerns over the coronavirus. That means that whilst US and some international audiences can see it in theatres, there’s currently no way to watch The Green Knight in the UK.
However, The Green Knight will be available as an exclusive on 18 August 2021. This website is currently geo-locked for viewers outside of North America. However, we’ve managed to get a ticket for the screening from the UK – here’s everything you need to know.

How to watch The Green Knight in the UK and abroad
If you want access to the , then you’ll need a VPN. VPNs (virtual private networks) allow you to browse the internet as if you’re from another country by re-routing your IP address.
There’s a whole host of VPN providers out there, but the VPN we used to get a ticket for The Green Knight (and trust the most) is NordVPN, which provides great performance, decent pricing and is easy to use – Surfshark is another good choice. There are plenty more options in our list of the best VPNs for streaming.
Here’s how to buy a ticket for The Green Knight from outside of the US when it releases:
Note: Whilst we have successfully managed to log in to the website and purchase a ticket for the screening, we are not able to test viewing the film as it doesn’t release until 18 August 2021 at 9pm EDT/2am BST (19 August 2021). Please proceed at your own risk.
- Open your VPN of choice and connect to a US server
- Either log in or register for an A24 account
- If you’re not yet registered, enter your name, email address and a password
- Enter your billing details – this can be a UK bank card. Tickets cost $20, which is just under £15, and are non-refundable
- You’ll now receive a ‘thanks for purchasing’ icon, as well as confirmation email with the link to your screening for The Green Knight
You will need the VPN when you log in to your screener for The Green Knight, and there’s a four-hour viewing window available for the film.
As stated earlier, whilst we’ve successfully purchased a ticket, we haven’t been able to watch this screener as it isn’t available yet.
However, as the main website and billing information worked with a VPN, it’s likely that screening should also work on the day also.
Note that this is against A24’s terms of service, and your account could be cancelled. Proceed with caution.
