How to watch The Office in America

Whilst UK fans of The Office (US) celebrated in joy that the show had returned to Netflix at the start of 2021, American subscribers had to say goodbye to the sitcom.

However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t stream it at all if you’re in the States. We’ve rounded up all the ways you can watch The Office online in the USA – keep on reading to find out how.

Watch The Office on Peacock

Currently, the only streaming service in the US that has all nine seasons of The Office is Peacock. However, you need to have the right subscription to watch the whole show.

There are three tiers to Peacock: Free, Premium and Premium Plus. The first option doesn’t cost anything at all, Premium costs $4.99 per month/$49.99 per year and Premium Plus costs $9.99 per month/$99.99 per year.

In addition, Peacock Free has a limited library, whilst the Premium tiers have a full library of content. Premium Plus also takes out adverts from streaming. You can sign up for any of these three account types over on the Peacock website.

When it comes to The Office, you can only watch the first two seasons on Peacock Free. If you want to access the whole show, you’ll need one of the Premium subscriptions. Premium Plus will give you all of The Office without any advertisements.

If you have the time to binge it, you can watch the whole show for free right now. Peacock is making the show free to stream to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the show (via NBC). This deal is only available until 25 March.

Watch The Office on Netflix using a VPN

If you already have a Netflix account and don’t want to fork out for another streaming subscription, then you can use a VPN to stream The Office via Netflix UK.

If you’re not aware, VPNs (virtual private networks) re-route your IP address, which means that you can browse the internet as if you’re from another country.

Once you’ve chosen your VPN provider, you simply download the software onto your device of choice and connect to the country’s server you wish to access. As The Office is available on Netflix UK, you would want to connect to a server in the United Kingdom.

When you’ve connected to a server, simply open either the Netflix website or app, and you should find that the UK library of Netflix shows and films will appear, rather than the US one. Here, you should be able to find all episodes of The Office.

If you encounter loading or buffering issues during an episode, just connect to a different server and this should resolve the problem.

Also keep in mind that is technically against Netflix’s terms of service, so they could in theory suspect your account. Proceed at your own risk.
