- Motorola Moto Air X70 revealed in China
- Specs emerge ahead of 31 October launch event
- Motorola Edge 70 could be slightly different
Motorola has officially announced the Moto X70 Air, its contribution to the super-slim smartphone scene, which will likely make its way West as the Motorola Edge 70.
The Moto X70 Air is now listed on the Lenovo China website (Lenovo being the parent company of Motorola) ahead of its 31 October launch. It provides a full rundown of the phone’s specifications, some of which raise questions over the company’s global launch plans.
Naturally, the most interesting thing about X70 Air is its skinny build. Sure enough, we can now confirm that it measures just 5.3mm thin and weighs a mere 159g. That’s even slimmer and lighter than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air.
More interesting (to me at least) is that these specs don’t tally up with the 5.99mm thickness and 170g weight that Motorola confirmed for the Motorola Edge 70 in its recent quiz-based marketing for the phone. Most had assumed that these would essentially be the same phone, but this suggests otherwise.

Motorola Moto X70 Air specs
It won’t be down to the battery, as both phone pack 4,800mAh cells. That might sound quite small in isolation, but it’s way bigger than that of the Galaxy S25 Edge (3,900mAh) and the iPhone Air (3,149mAh). You can hank silicon-carbon technology for that.
There’s 68W charging support for the X70 Air, too. IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance is a welcome touch.
Up front of the Motorola Moto X70 Air there’s a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED with 1.5K resolution and a 4,500 nits peak brightness.
It’s powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, which marks it as a lower order of phone than either of those super-slim rivals.
We’re expecting the next part of Motorola’s Edge 70 teaser quiz soon, so hopefully we’ll learn more about the differences to the X70 Air. At this point, it doesn’t appear to be quite the product the we were expecting, which is actually quite exciting.
