- Moto X70 Air teased
- New skinny phone coming late October
- Could arrive in West as Motorola Edge 70
Motorola has teased the launch of its own super-thin smartphone, the Moto X70 Air, and it looks as if both Samsung and Apple are in for some competition.
The Lenovo-owned company has taken to Weibo to issue a brief teaser about a new device that it’s officially calling the Moto X70 Air.
According to the post, this new phone will be “As light as Air, even lighter and more AI”.
Putting aside the usual issues with machine translation, the message seems clear – this phone is going to be extremely thin and light, and it’s going to be packed full of AI features, much like other recent Motorola flagship phones including the Razr 60 Ultra and the Edge 60 (pictured above).

Moto X70 Air release date and specs
Motorola also tips us as to its launch plans for the Moto X70 Air. “See you at the end of October”, it writes.
We also get a little teaser image, showing the Motorola Moto X70 Air being held with its side facing frontwards, highlighting its slender body.
This image also offers the hint of some bold colour choices that Motorola is making with the new Moto X70 Air. From what we can see, there’s a stylish shade of green for the body and a bold pop of orange from the camera lenses.
Reports suggest that this will be another flagship phone from Motorola, with top notch performance courtesy of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. That would place it at the head of the Motorola pack.
Motorola’s vital Edge
All in all, it’s another clear rival to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and – more recently – the iPhone Air.
There is one noteworthy caveat here, though. So far, Motorola’s X smartphone series has been a China-only affair. Will we even see the X70 Air here in the West?
It seems quite likely that we will under the Edge 70 branding, if other rumours are to be believed. Just last week we brought you the well-sourced rumour that the follow-up to the Motorola Edge 60 would be an altogether skinnier breed of phone.
