My Audible subscription from Amazon has been a godsend over the last few months. While I do have a few physical books still on my shelf waiting to be read (including book three in the Fourth Wing series, Onyx Storm), I don’t always have the time to sit down with a chunky novel – especially if I’m travelling and need to pack lightly.
Audiobooks have allowed me to be transported to other worlds, no matter where I am – whether that’s on a busy London bus on route to the office, overpriced coffee in hand, or cooking dinner from the comfort of my own home. This month, I’ve practically been glued to the app.
I’m coming to the end of my own deal price, but Amazon has released an offer so tempting that I’m really wishing I were a brand-new customer… although, nothing is stopping me (or you, dear reader) from creating another account to take advantage of this killer price to help save money/fund a caffeine addiction.
During the October Prime Day sales, Amazon is bundling an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription with Audible for 99p for three months – and best of all, you don’t need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage.
If you’re in the US, the deal is even sweeter – 99c for four months if you’re a Prime member – though those without Prime still get three months.
But get in quick, as both the UK and US offers expire tomorrow, 8 October 2025.
So, what do you get with that? Well, besides the three (or four) free audiobooks across your trial, you also get access to Amazon’s library of over 100 million songs, plus a whole plethora of podcasts – all ad-free, with support for spatial audio and UHD quality.
If you’re paying for another service like Spotify or Apple Music, you could always pause it and get equivalent access to Amazon’s library for a fraction of the price.
If you need some audiobook recommendations from an Entertainment Editor, I’ve been listening to the recently released Uncharmed by Lucy Jane Wood – a cosy, witchy novel set in London. It embodies everything I love about the autumn season, and has been a great listen for keeping me calm and relaxed, even when I’m running late due to various TFL woes.
But there’s plenty more new releases to get your teeth (or ears) stuck into, including Elizabeth Gilbert’s latest controversial memoir, All the Way to the River, The Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown’s new mystery thriller, The Secret of Secrets, and Sunday Times instant bestseller, Alchemised by SenLinYu, a dark fantasy book.
Meanwhile, you can use that Amazon Music Unlimited subscription to binge Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, or any other artist or album that takes your fancy.
Once your three-month deal price is up, this combined subscription will renew at the original price of £11.99/$11.99 per month (or £10.99/$10.99 for Prime members).
If you’re an iPhone user, make sure you check out this Apple Prime Day deal that our Deputy Editor is buying.
