Chromebooks are usually an affordable alternative to Windows and Mac laptops, but HP is one of the few companies making premium Chrome OS devices. The good news is that there some big savings on these premium models for Black Friday.
The highlight is the capable 14c-cc0013dx, a device which usually retails for $699. However, Best Buy’s sale currently drops the price to just $399 in the US. That’s a $300 discount, and the lowest price it’s been since launching last year.
As it’s usually a premium Chromebook, you won’t have to worry about basic specs here. The device is equipped with an 11th-gen Intel Core i3 processor and 8GB of RAM, making it a great option for everyday use. It helps power a 14in Full HD (1920×1080) display, while you also convertible functionality via a 360° hinge.
With a generous 58Wh battery, a fingerprint reader and plenty of ports, it offers everything most people are looking for in a Chromebook.
To help sweeten the deal, Best Buy is also throwing in a couple of extra perks. You get a free six-month subscription to the Webroot internet security software for three devices, plus free YouTube Premium. The latter includes access to the YouTube Music streaming service, but you’ll have to be a new customer to benefit.
That model isn’t currently available in the UK, but there is £100 off a similar model – the x360 14c. It’s down to under £500 in HP’s Black Friday sale, or you can get £70 off the more powerful Core i5 version with the code ’10BLK’.
However, the discount is even more generous in the US. At $439, the i3 model is $210 cheaper than usual.
