Oppo is continuing to drip-feed information about its upcoming Find N5 foldable phone and the latest news is that it has a spec better than every rival.
Via Pete Lau on X (formerly Twitter), Oppo’s Chief Product Officer has confirmed that the Find N5 will feature IPX9 water-resistance, as well as IPX6 and IPX8 ratings.
The news comes just a day after he showed it off next to a rival claiming the main screen has no crease.
That goes one higher than the IPX8 found on the likes of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Huawei Mate X6, though there’s no dust rating (hence the X) which you will find on the IP48-rated Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.

The IPX9 rating means that the Find N5 can withstand powerful high-temperature water jets and is the highest rating. This is on top of the IPX8 rating which protects for immersion under 1m of water.
“Immensely durable, rain or shine,” said Lau.
The Find N5 is shaping up to be one of the most interesting foldable phones of late. The firm has already claimed it as ‘The world’s thinnest foldable’.
We’ll find out more on the Find N5 as it will be officially unveiled in a couple of weeks, though it seems the company is likely to tease more between now and then.
