Poco X4 Pro 5G specs leaked; suggests weaker performance compared to predecessor Poco X3 Pro | Digit

A recent leak suggests that the Poco X4 Pro may be powered by a relatively weaker Snapdragon 695 SoC. Its predecessor, the Poco X3 Pro, was powered by a Snapdragon 860 chipset.

The Poco X3 Pro (review) garnered quite a lot of praise thanks go its combination of high-end specifications and a very reasonable price tag. Xiaomi is now preparing to release its Poco X4 series, with the Poco X4 Pro 5G being the top-of-the-line device.

According to a report by notebookcheck, the device was spotted on China ‘s TENAA with the model number “2201116PG” a few weeks ago, following a leak which revealed several key specs of a device that hint towards the new Poco X4 Pro 5G. The same has now appeared with the model number “2201116SC”. With reference to Xiaomi’s internal code scheme, both codes seem to refer to the same device, although the latter seems to be for the Chinese market.

On one hand, the leak suggests that the device does seem to have a number of strong specs such as a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 108MP camera, and a 5000mAh battery which supports 67W fast charging.

On the other hand, it also suggests a serious downgrade in terms of processing power subsequent performance in the Poco X4 Pro 5G over its predecessor, the Poco X3 Pro, with the former reportedly being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC as compared to the latter’s more powerful Snapdragon 860 chipset.

If the above is true, it will be the second Xiaomi device in 2022 to offer a relatively weaker chipset as compared to its predecessor. The Redmi Note 11 sports a relatively weaker Snapdragon 680 SoC as compared to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 10’s more powerful Snapdragon 678 chipset.
