Keeping your house clean can be time consuming and tiring. Hoovering carpets and mopping floors is hard work, especially if you have a large family or pets. So, it’s welcome news that the clever people at EZVIZ have come up with an impressive new robot vacuum cleaner and mop that can take care of business while you get on with more fun activities. 

The EZVIZ RS20 Pro is one of the smartest vacuums around

Robot vacuums have been around for a while, but the new EZVIZ RS20 Pro has some exciting technology that could revolutionise how you clean. Not only does it have software to tell it when you want your cleaning done and where, there are hardware capabilities that mean it can deal with different floor types or obstructions. This means you won’t come home to find the vacuuming only half done because the robot couldn’t work out how to get around a toy left out by your child or needed a mop attachment for your hardwood floor. The RS20 Pro is smart and independent, so it can solve these problems by itself. 

The RS20 Pro is equipped with various navigational aids that include LDS LiDAR, a structured 3D laser and an AI camera so that it can map your house and work out the most efficient routes. Then, if you move things around, it can adjust accordingly. They also allow the robot to identify 65 types of common household items, including shoes and cables. Plus, there’s a drop sensor to prevent it falling down steps, and Automatic Light Activation means it can work just as well in the dark. 

The idea is that the RS20 Pro is fully automatic and able to intelligently decide which tools it needs for the surface it’s cleaning. If you set it to clean both carpeted and wooden floors, it will vacuum the former, change its fittings then wash your floors. No dirty mops being dragged across your expensive carpets, just clean floors all done without the need for your intervention. 

If your pet is alone at home, the built-in camera can also double as a pet-cam, so you can check up on your dog or cat while the RS20 Pro does its work. 

Intelligently cleans all your floors then cleans itself

Of course, cleaning is the most important aspect, and this is where the RS20 Pro comes into its own. With 7,200Pa of suction, the RS20 Pro can deep clean between carpet fibres and easily remove hair. Thanks to its sensors, the device automatically lifts its side brushes to protect carpets and increase suction for peak performance. 

In its base station there is a 5L water reservoir alongside dedicated mop fittings, the latter of which allows the device to automatically attach these when it wants to swap from vacuuming to mopping up any messes or washing your floors. The mop pads spin at 180 RPM and exert 10N of downwards pressure, so they’ll scrub a floor as well as you would yourself. It also features dynamic edge mopping, for a thorough clean right up to walls.

When its work is done, the RS20 Pro docks at the base station and runs through a cleaning cycle that draws out all the dirt and waste. The 3-in-1 CutFree brush means you won’t have to disentangle hair wrapped around the robot’s brush bar either, as the RS20 Pro will take care of this job itself. Finally, it will recharge the 5,200mAh battery so it’s ready to go again when you need it.
