Redmi Note 10 Pro arrives 13 April in the UK at £219 early bird price

As promised, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 10 series of mid-range smartphones in the UK with no less than four models to choose from. Here’s everything you need to know about the new phones.

The firm is dubbing the devices, ‘The AMOLED Explorer’, ‘The 108MP Voyager’, ‘The 64MP Adventurer’ and ‘The 5G Pioneer’ and aim to provide a lot of phone for affordable prices.

The firm has already sold 200 million Redmi Note devices so far so let’s see what’s next after the Redmi Note 9.

When will the Redmi Note 10 be released?

Xiaomi held a launch event for the Redmi Note 10 series on 4 March 2021.

As mentioned above, there are four different Note 10 models coming but only three of them are coming to the UK.

  • Redmi Note 10 – early April (not coming to the UK)
  • Redmi Note 10 Pro – 13 April
  • Redmi Note 10S – later in Q2 (April in some markets)
  • Redmi Note 10 5G – later in Q2 (April in some markets)

You’ll be able to pre-order some from with early bird prices on 8 and 9 March ahead of the regular UK release.

We discussed the Pro model in episode 57 of Fast Charge. You can watch it below and read our full Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro review.

How much will the Redmi Note 10 cost?

Like many phone launches, Xiaomi is saying that “UK pricing will be announced closer to the launch.”

However, we do have US pricing via the launch event which you can see below. These are touted as mid-range but many fit into our budget category, which has a limit of £250.

Redmi Note 10 prices

  • 4/64GB – $199 (early bird $179)
  • 4/128GB – $229 (early bird $199)

Note that while this model isn’t officially launched in the UK, Amazon has a number of listings for it at £179/199. One appears to be a Spanish model ‘without branding‘ and two other listing – one for white and one for green – say ‘UK Version’.

However, these are sold by CENGDA which has a Honk Kong address. The ‘UK versions’ might come with a UK plug then but we’re not sure if Xiaomi would provide any support should something go wrong so be careful.

What specs and features will we see in the Redmi Note 10?

With four models, there are a lot of specs to go over and get your head round. Then there’s the complication that slightly different models have launched in India with mixed up names – the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max in India is almost exactly the same as the global Pro.

The focus, it seems, is on the Redmi Note 10 Pro model which features things like a 120Hz refresh rate screen, a quad camera setup headlined by a 108Mp sensor and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor.

It’s similar in some ways to the Xiaomi Mi 11 and the firm says it has similar 9-into-1 pixel binning technology as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The Redmi Note 10S has a less impressive 64Mp camera – although still part of a quad rear array – and a MediaTek Helio G95. However, it still supports 33W fast charging like the Pro and Xiaomi includes the charger in the box.

Apart from the obvious 5G connectivity the Redmi Note 10 5G has a 90Hz display, a 48Mp main camera and a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. The charging drops to 18W and has a maximum of 6GB RAM.

The regular Redmi Note 10 is a sort of blend of the others with the 33W charging and a quad rear camera array, but a regular AMOLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 678. As a reminder, this model isn’t launching in the UK at all.
