Save £200 on the Xiaomi Mi 11 or bag a free Switch with the Mi Lite 5G!

With the Xiaomi 12 series now on the scene, you can expect more concrete price drops across last year’s Mi 11 series. We’ve rounded up the best SIM-free and on-contract deals for devices including the Mi 11 5G and the 11 Lite series.

Highlights this month include a £200 reduction on the flagship Mi 11 5G – an offer that we last saw back in November 2021 – tied to the 128GB storage SKU in Midnight Grey, direct from Xiaomi’s online store, while those who’d rather spread the cost of their phone on-contract can grab a great offer from Fonehouse that pairs the Mi 11 5G with a Vodafone plan that includes 250GB of data a month for £34 a month, with an upfront cost of £118.99.

If you’re more interested in the Mi 11 Lite 5G, Mobile Phones Direct’s super bundle is still going strong, pairing the phone with a free Nintendo Switch.

You may know already, but the Mi 11 was the first handset in the world to use the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. It launched alongside the Mi Watch, Mi Watch Lite, and a Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 edition Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2.

Don’t confuse the Mi 11 with the similar-sounding budget Mi 11T and 11T Pro though – those phones serve as follow-ups to the Mi 11 range and arrived much later in 2021.

Xiaomi Mi 11 – Best SIM-free deals

If you’re after the 128GB version, as already mentioned, the Mi Store has it on offer with £200 off (so long as you buy it in Midnight Grey) at £599.

The 256GB variant can also be had with a decent discount, with both Box and Laptops Direct offering the phone up for £729 (that’s £70 off and £20 less than the standard RRP of the 128GB model).

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G/11 Lite 5G NE – Best SIM-free deals

For those after the more modestly priced Mi 11 Lite 5G, Xiaomi is serving the phone up with a sizeable £130 off, so long as you’re a fan of the Mint Green colourway. There’s also the 11 Lite 5G NE, which is essentially the same device, albeit with a tweaked chipset and different colourways to consider; currently enjoying its biggest discount on Amazon, at £150 off.

Both the Mi 11 Lite and 11 Lite 5G NE sport the same 6.55in 90Hz AMOLED display, feature a 64Mp main sensor, along with an 8Mp ultrawide and a 5Mp ‘telemacro’, and pack a 4250mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The kay difference falls to the chipset, with the standard model running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 780G, while the revised NE employs a Snapdragon 778G SoC.

In some markets (including Europe), there’s also a 4G-only Mi 11 Lite that comes in slightly different colour options and runs on a Snapdragon 732G chipset.

About the Mi 11 range – Which phones can I buy in the UK?

The full range includes seven phones: The Mi 11, 11 Pro, 11 Ultra, 11 Lite, 11 Lite 5G, 11 Lite 5G NE and 11i. While the UK gets the Mi 11, 11 Lite 5G, and 11 Lite 5G NE (and apparently the Mi 11 Ultra too), the rest of Europe gets an additional 4G Mi 11 Lite and the Mi 11i. Availability breaks down like this:

  • Mi 11 – UK & Europe
  • 11 Ultra – UK & Europe
  • 11 Lite 5G – UK & Europe
  • 11 Lite 5G NE – UK & Europe
  • 11 Lite 4G – Europe
  • 11i – Europe
  • 11 Pro – China-only

The Mi 11 offers a 6.81in AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2K (3200×1440) resolution – a first for Xiaomi. Other features include a 4600mAh battery paired to 55W fast charging and 50W wireless charging, with a 108Mp main camera. See our full review of the Mi 11, where it received 4 out of 5 stars and a Tech Advisor Recommended badge.

Both the Ultra and Pro sport a Snapdragon 888 chipset and up to 12GB RAM. Like the Mi 11, you can expect 2K quad-curved 120Hz AMOLED panels on both but a larger 5000mAh battery (compared to the Mi 11’s 4600mAh) that supports wired and wireless fast charging at 67W.

The Mi 11 Pro also offers a 50Mp main camera, 13Mp ultrawide and an 8Mp ‘telemacro’ lens with OIS. The 11 Ultra sports a 48Mp main camera and, most notably, a mini display on the rear camera module that doubles as a viewfinder, meaning the main camera can be used for selfies.
