Oppo is often overlooked when it comes to flagship phones in the West, but the company’s new flagships make it even harder to ignore.
The Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, which debuted in China today, include some envelope-pushing specs that should have Samsung, Google and even Apple worried.
Significantly, Oppo is avoiding the long delay between Chinese and global releases that’s commonplace among its rivals. The Find X9 series will launch in Europe at an event in Barcelona on 28 October – that’s less than two weeks away. And it looks like both models will be available this year, after only the Find X8 Pro made it to the UK.
There’s no doubt what the headlining spec is – some seriously large batteries. The regular Find X9 boasts a 7025mAh cell, while the Find X9 Pro boosts this to 7500mAh.
This is due in part to the silicon-carbon tech they’re using, which enables a higher energy density within the same space. With even the more imposing Pro measuring 8.3mm and 224g, these are not particularly bulky phones.
While many Android flagships are flocking to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Oppo has gone for MediaTek instead. The Find X9 and X9 Pro are both powered by the Dimensity 9500, its latest and greatest chipset, and you should expect nothing less than stellar performance.
The regular Find X9’s 6.59-inch display gives it fractionally smaller dimensions than the 6.78-inch Pro. However, while both are high-resolution 120Hz AMOLEDs, only the Pro gets LTPO tech to dynamically drop the refresh rate below 60Hz and further boost battery life.

Both phones feature a customisable AI button on the side, alongside a dedicated camera shutter button.
The other big upgrade on the Pro can be found on the periscope telephoto camera, which still offers 3x optical zoom but is now 200Mp as opposed to 50Mp on the regular. You can take this to the next level by adding an optional extender accessory, though this requires an official case.
It’s also worth noting that the Find X9 series’ cameras retain the Hasselblad branding, despite sister company OnePlus ditching it for the upcoming OnePlus 15.
As for pricing, the figures in China give little away – the Find X9 starts at ¥4,399 (approx. £460/$620), while the X9 Pro is available for ¥5,299 (approx. £550/$740). However, they’ll be much more expensive than those direct conversions suggest, with the Find X8 series offering a better guide.
At launch, the Find X8 Pro was £1,049, while the regular Find X8 costs the equivalent of around £699. It remains to be seen how much this will vary on the Find X9 series.
