Chinese manufacturer Vivo has an event planned for April that should see the arrival of a new flagship phone, the introduction of its first foldable device, plus a debut in the Android tablet space.

Here’s all we know about the latter – the Vivo Pad. 

When will the Vivo Pad be released?

Vivo has already announced an event on 11 April where it will unveil its new Vivo X Note and Vivo X Fold. It has also confirmed that the Vivo Pad will make an appearance via a post on its Weibo feed.

How much will the Vivo Pad cost?

There’s been no official word on the price of the Vivo Pad, so we’ll have to wait until the launch event to be sure. As a rough guide we can look towards the other Android tablets that are available:

• Samsung Tab S8 – £649/€769/$699
• Samsung Tab S8+ – £849/€999/$899
• Samsung Tab S8 Ultra – £999/€1,219/$1,099
• Xiaomi Pad 5 – £369/€399 (approx. $485)
• Huawei MatePad 11 – £349/€399 (approx. $459)

A lot will depend on the device’s final specs, which will ultimately determine how much Vivo can justify charging for the tablet.

What about the Vivo Pad specs and features?

There has been a wide range of reports on the potential spec sheet for the Vivo Pad.

Sparrow News has posted details it says originated from promotional material for the device which may have been posted accidentally on the Vivo site. These include the following features:

• 11in display running at 2560 x 1600 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision
• Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor
• 8GB RAM
• 8Mp front-facing camera
• 13Mp + 8Mp rear cameras
• 8040mAh battery
• 44W fast charging
• Origin OS
• 6.55mm thickness
• 489g
• USB C (3.1) port

There seems to also be support for a dedicated keyboard case as well as a stylus, presumably made by Vivo. These assertions are supported by some of the official images we’ve seen posted on the Vivo Weibo site.

Many of the specs have been reported on other sites, such as GizmoChina, Notebook Check and several of Twitter’s army of tech tipsters, who usually prove pretty accurate when it comes to devices from China.
