- Vivo X300 Pro and X300 announced
- Impressive camera specs
- Sadly limited availability
The Vivo X300 Pro and X300 smartphones have been officially announced, with some impressive specs and an uncertain launch schedule.
Vivo’s latest flagship phones look set to nail a tempting combination of high-end specs and accessible pricing, for those who can actually buy one.
Both phones are based around MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip, which promise to offer some strong competition to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
There’s a 6.78-inch 1260 x 2800 LTPO display for the Pro, and a smaller 6.31-inch 1216 x 2640 LTPO screen for the regular model. Both hit 120Hz and supply ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.

But the main spec to focus on here (pun unintended) is the camera provision. Both phones offer an eye-catching 200MP 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPB image sensor, though while the Pro uses that for its telephoto camera, the non-Pro uses it as a main camera.
The Vivo X300 Pro uses a 50MP 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-828 sensor for its main camera, complete with gimbal stabilisation system. The non-Pro model, for its part, goes with a 50MP 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-602 APO telephoto.
The Pro model even supports the company’s add-on telephoto extender lens, which was announced alongside the Vivo X200 Ultra earlier this year.
Both phones use a pair of 50MP Samsung JN1 cameras – one for ultra-wide shots, the other on selfie duty.

Both phones supply up to 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage, as well as 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.
The Pro has a 6,510mAh battery, while the normal model gives you a slightly smaller 6,040mAh cell.
All that battery and camera tech appears to have taken its toll on the X300 Pro, with a chunky-sounding 226g weight and a 7.99mm-thick body. The Vivo X300 is more compact, weighing 190g measuring 7.95mm thick. Both boast IP68 and IP69 ratings.
Vivo X300 price and availability
Which brings us to the thorny issue of availability. Vivo no longer officially operates in the UK, so like last year’s Vivo V30 Pro, we’re unlikely to see the phone on these shores.
It’s likely to bring the X300 range to select European markets, however. There’s a page for the new series on its Italian website, for one thing.
Over in its native China, the Vivo X300 Pro is priced from ¥5,299 (which translates to £559), while the non-Pro starts from ¥4,399 (about £464).
