We expect Amazon has some great Echo deals lined up for its Prime Day sale in June, but there’s no need to wait if you want a cheap Echo today. Both Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 8 are currently discounted, and there are some great bundle- and refurbished deals, too.
Although these are the only Echo speakers currently discounted at Amazon, the retailer regularly offers great deals on its Alexa devices. You can view up-to-date pricing for all Echo speakers at all major retailers in our price-comparison charts below.
You can also find some previous-gen devices at new lower prices, such as this Echo Dot 3.
Best Echo Dot (4th-gen) deals
There is a new Echo Dot – brand-new, having only gone on sale in October 2020 – and it comes with an updated design (shown below alongside the new Echo 4 so you can see the size comparison) and a faster processor. Alexa is more responsive than in the third-gen model, and the spherical design makes for better bass, despite the new model featuring the same speaker hardware. Of course, the third-gen model, while still available, is a tenner cheaper. Read our full Echo Dot 4 review.
Best Echo Dot (3rd-gen) deals
The Echo Dot is Amazon’s cheapest smart speaker (the Flex isn’t really a speaker – it’s more of a utility device). With Alexa built-in it is capable of all the same things as the pricier Echos, but you don’t get a display and audio quality is naturally inferior, but still surprisingly good. With a retail price of £39.99, buying an Echo Dot is the best way to try Alexa in your home without investing too much, and it’s also the cheapest way to get an Echo in every room of the house when you ultimately decide you love it. Best Echo Dot with Clock deals
The Echo Dot with Clock has been updated in line with the non-clock version of the Echo Dot (4th-gen). It’s the same thing, but with a visible readout of the time, alarms and timers, and it adds a £10 premium to the price. The Echo Dot with Clock retails at £59.99. Best Echo (4th-gen) deals
In line with Echo Dot, the standard Echo speaker has also been updated in late-2020. The fourth-gen model is a winner. Thanks to the inclusion of the smart hub – and temperature sensor – you get more for your money as well as slightly better sound quality. Don’t forget the new AZ1 processor: this makes Alexa respond faster and will bring more benefits as Amazon rolls out Alexa’s more natural-sounding voice. Read our full Amazon Echo (4th-gen) review.
Best Echo Studio Deals
The Echo Studio is the top-of-the-line Echo without a display. With a full retail price of £189.99, it’s cheaper only than the 10in Echo Show. If you want the ultimate in sound quality, this is the Echo for you, with support for hi-res audio and 3D sound making this a significantly cheaper rival to Apple’s HomePod and the Google Home Max. A large slot on the front allows bass from the 5.25in woofer to pour out, and the Studio also has two 2in speakers and a 1in tweeter inside, each positioned to deliver truly room-filling audio. Plus there’s a built-in Zigbee hub for controlling compatible smart home kit. Read our Echo Studio review.
Best Echo Show 5 Deals
The most recent addition to Amazon’s Echo line is the Echo Show 5, a smart display that is beaten on price only by the Echo Dot with a retail price of £79.99. Amazon builds in a 5.5in display, which is ideal if you want a screen but also a more compact device than the standard 10in Show. Read our full Echo Show 5 review.
Best Echo Show 8 Deals
Echo Show is now also available in an 8in version – same thing, just bigger. Read our full Echo Show 8 review.
Best Echo Show 10 Deals
The newest Echo Show model to launch is the Echo Show 10, which retails at £239.99. Read our full Echo Show 10 review.
Best Amazon Echo Deals
Amazon offers some great deals all year round, and not just during the main sales events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and the Boxing Day/New Year/January sales.
The next big sale will be Amazon Prime Day. The retail giant has confirmed that this is happening in June 2021, but not the exact date – we’ll keep you updated. (You might also like: What is Amazon Prime?)
When an Echo device goes on sale at Amazon it is also found at this reduced price at official stockists including Currys, John Lewis and Argos, so be sure to also check these outlets as stocks run low.
You can also find Echo deals from third-party sellers in the US. Newegg, sometimes has bundle deals on Echo devices. See all Echo deals on Newegg here.
Best Refurbished Echo deals
A great way to save on Echo devices directly from Amazon is through buying refurbished. Refurbished prices can save you up to 54% off the RRP on other Amazon devices too, like Kindle e-readers and Fire tablets.
Certified refurbished devices go through rigorous testing (hence “certified”) to ensure products are just like new. You also get a separate 1-year limited warranty. Click here to see all Amazon Certified Refurbished deals.
In the US, there are a lot more options for certified refurbished Amazon devices.
