Nokia launches second ever Android tablet, the Nokia T20

Today, Nokia is launching its next-generation tablet – the Nokia T20. Designed with the entire family in mind, the tablet comes with 15-hour battery life, a kids mode and two years worth of pure Android OS updates.

The tablet is the first device in Nokia’s brand new T-series and follows in the footsteps of the Nokia N1, which launched back in 2014. It is available in both WiFi and LTE flavours, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB worth of storage (in the UK), with room for up to 512GB more space via a microSD card. International markets have other storage options available.

Like the Nokia 8.3, the 10.4in tablet features a ‘Scandinavian-inspired design’, with a slim metal body and a 3D display frame. This is topped off with an Ocean Blue finish. The display has a 2K resolution, with blue light certification.

Under the hood, the tablet runs on a Tiger T610 processor and is packed with an 8200mAh battery, which Nokia claims will give up to 15 hours of web browsing, 7 hours of continuous video calls and 10 hours worth of video playback. This device does support 15W charging, though only a 10W charger is provided in the box.

If you’re still planning on working from home, then the T20 is built with video calls in mind. It’s equipped with dual microphones, stereo speakers with OZO Playback, a 5Mp front camera and an 8Mp rear camera. It also comes with Google Duo pre-installed.

Speaking of software, the Nokia T20 comes with Android 11 out-the-box, plus two years worth of OS upgrades. Like other Nokia products, this isn’t a skinned take on Android – you get a near-stock OS as standard. There’s also three year’s worth of monthly security updates and the T20 also comes Android Recommended, making it a contender for businesses.

If you’d like to share this tablet with the family, then there are plenty of features to ensure that the T20 is child-friendly. Google Kids Space comes pre-installed – which features appropriate apps for younger users, books and videos selected by teachers, and combability with multiple Google accounts, to add in family parental controls for further customisation.

The Nokia T20 launches alongside a range of other compatible accessories, including some in-ear earphones, a slim charging case, a flip stand and a more rugged rear cover to keep the tablet protected.
