After months of speculation, the Tab S8 Series was finally revealed at Samsung’s February 2022 Galaxy Unpacked event.
The Tab S8 and S8+ represent minor upgrades over their predecessors from 2020, but the Tab S8 Ultra is a brand-new device. It increases the screen size to a huge 14.6in, introducing a notch for the very first time on a Samsung tablet.
Pre-orders for all three are live now in the UK and US, and there are some additional perks available if you buy one right now. Here’s everything you need to know, whether you’re happy with the Wi-Fi model or would like 5G support too.

When will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series go on sale?
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra were announced on 9 February 2022. All three phones became available to pre-order immediately in the UK and US, ahead of release on 25 February 2022.
However, limited availability right now means even pre-orders are unlikely to arrive until March. The Samsung website and most third-party retailers provide an estimate of when the devices will be delivered.
If you’re based in India, you’ll also have to wait slightly longer. Pre-orders are live there as of 22 February 2022, but the tablets don’t go on sale until 10 March 2022.
How much does the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series cost?
Predictably, the cheapest tablet in the range is the regular Tab S8 – it starts at £649/$699. It’s available in Graphite (Black) or Silver in the UK, but US customers can also buy it in pink.
It’s the same scenario for the Tab S8+ which will set you back at least £849/$899 at launch.
For the new Tab S8+ Ultra, you’ll need deep pockets. It starts at £990/$1,099, while you’re limited to just the Graphite finish.

The Tab S8+ and S8 Ultra aren’t available to pre-order on contract, so we don’t know their prices yet.

Can you buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series on contract?
Yes, the 5G models are available to buy on contract in the UK. Here’s where to look:
- EE – S8 from £40.50 per month, S8+ from £54pm, S8 Ultra from £63pm – all for 4GB data, no upfront cost
- O2 – S8 from £28 per month, S8+ from £33pm, S8 Ultra from £36.50pm – all with £20 upfront
- Three – S8+ from £50 per month with £60 upfront, S8 Ultra from £60pm with £79 upfront
- Vodafone – S8 from £51 per month, S8+ from £57pm, S8 Ultra from £65pm – all with £50 upfront
In the US, the situation is more complicated. Only the 5G model of the Tab S8+ is available on Verizon via the Samsung website. Samsung has plans to sell the device via AT&T and T-Mobile later this year, but neither are available yet.
